(Uncertain, TX) Recently the Marshall Chamber of Commerce staff, board members and Ambassadors gathered with civic leaders, media, friends, and owners, Captain Ron Gibbs and Captain Wes McCalip of Caddo Lake Steamboat Company and the Graceful Ghost of Uncertain, TX, to celebrate the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Caddo Lake Steamboat Company specializes in scenic, narrated tours of exotic Caddo Lake. The Graceful Ghost is a majestic river boat -- an authentic recreation of an 1800's steamboat -- complete with a wood-fired boiler, steam whistle, and a working paddlewheel. It boasts romantic Victorian decor complete with Oriental rugs, gleaming varnished wood, and an occasional spittoon. The tours take you down the some of the same route used by steamboats in the 19th century. The Graceful Ghost tours also offer historical, botanical, and ecological narration, covered seating for all, a restroom on board, handicap access and the promise of a relaxing, romantic excursion where the past, present and future all meet.
Days of operation are Tuesday through Sunday and board at Shady Glade Marina on Cypress Drive in Uncertain, TX. Special charters are available for special events, field trips, company outings, weddings, family reunions, church outings, anniversaries, birthdays, memorial services, graduations, etc.
