(Marshall, TX) Recently the Marshall Chamber of Commerce staff, board members and Ambassadors gathered with civic leaders, media, friends, and the staff of Woodforest National Bank – Wal-Mart Branch to celebrate their 8th Anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony.


Woodforest National Bank is celebrating 29 years of banking success. They strive to make the customers’ experience simple and convenient and offer more flexible banking hours than most traditional banks.


In 1980, Woodforest National Bank opened its first branch in the Houston, Texas market. In 1996, they opened their first in-store branch, offering customers the convenience of seven-day-a-week full service banking with extended hours. In 1999, Woodforest took “banking convenience” a step further and opened the first of eight “round the clock” branches open seven days a week, 24 hours a day in select markets. In 2001, Woodforest opened its first branch in Marshall, Texas inside Wal-Mart. In 2003, they added an additional location inside Marshall’s Kroger store. Both branches are open seven days a week, 364 days a year.


Today, Woodforest has more than 600 branch locations in 16 states and even with talk of an economic downturn, they remain a strong banking force having used wise strategies to keep them at the top.
